A Hillary Clinton no le gusta el libre mercado
“I agree with Paul Samuelson, the very famous economist, who has recently spoken and written about how comparative advantage, as it is classically understood, may not be descriptive of the 21st century economy.”
Según la noticia del FT, Hillary Clinton opina que las teorías que apoyan el libre mercado podrían no continuar siendo válidas en la era de la globalización. ¿Cuál es su alternativa? El proteccionismo:
“I want to have a more comprehensive and thoughtful trade policy for the 21st century. There is nothing protectionist about this. It is a responsible course. The alternative is simply to pick up where President Bush left off and that is not an option.”
No, no es proteccionismo…
Yo me quedo con la conclusión del editorial alusivo del Financial Times:“We know for sure that every other country wants access to our markets, because we have high levels of consumer spending since we don’t save anything in America.”

“I am concerned by provisions that would prevent countries from enforcing stronger environmental and safety rules under the WTO. I think we have to take a hard look at this [the Doha Round] and do it in the right way.”
…
“I think vigilance is in order when the investor is a foreign government,” she said. “My principal concern is to increase transparency so that there is a clear understanding of where these funds are coming from…and what the potential downsides might be of having a foreign government control certain assets in our country.”
Like the other Democratic presidential candidates, Mrs Clinton is making “economic anxiety” a main theme of her campaign. That is good politics, especially with the economy slowing – and measures to assuage the concerns of middle America are warranted. Of these, universal healthcare is the most important and most welcome. But the slide toward protectionism that Mrs Clinton’s views invite would be a setback for American living standards, since cheap imports keep prices low. For the developing countries whose best chance of prosperity is through trade, her new thinking would be worse than a setback. It would be a calamity.
Pues eso, una calamidad económica tanto dentro como fuera. Qué fácil lo van a tener los republicanos el próximo mes de noviembre, qué fácil.
Pues lo tiene claro con la forma de pensar del pueblo americano.
Odian el proteccionismo con la misma furia que aman la libertad.
El intervencionismo estatal solo es posible en paises bananeros que nunca han salido de la lacra del totalitarismo interventor del estado y que les ha llevado al desastre económico.
No creo que el pueblo americano este por hacerse el “harakiri” y lanzarse en las manos del mercado controlado por el Estado o los estados.
Mucho menos en el escenario de la globalización.

hillary se cree que como ella trago con lo que trago monica,los americanos tambien se van a tragar sus milongas(valgan las multiples redundancias)
Los americanos,por mucho que se empeñen algunos por aqui,no son tontos(aunque haberlos,hailos….pero no creo que en mayor porcentaje que aqui) asi que Hilaria(aunque en la china no la llamen asi,que diria jose luis lopez,el de ERC) tendra sus problemillas para ganar…

La “izquierda” norteamericana, animada intelectualmente desde las universidades, generalmente, es aun peor que la europea. Esta señora no sabe lo que dice, pero no es de extrañar, ya que la mayoría de los economistas afamados son también unos ignorantes autocomplacientes. Cuestión de Progresia, aquí, allí, en todas partes. Somos los occidentales los enemigos más peligrosos para nuestra forma de vida…
